John Bunn Fully Exonerated at Long Last

EXI client John Bunn was only 14 years old when he was framed for murder by a corrupt Brooklyn detective and sent to jail for a crime he did not commit.  John's conviction was overturned in 2016 after a hearing, based on the misconduct of disgraced NYPD detective Louis Scarcella and the fact that there wasn't even probable cause to arrest John in the first place.  The DA appealed that ruling, but withdrew the appeal last month after an appellate court upheld the judge's decision overturning John's co-defendant's conviction. After 17 years in prison and 27 years fighting to clear his name, emotions ran high as John was finally exonerated yesterday.  Words cannot express the joy and relief we feel for John and his family.
